Ingredients
• 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
• 2 tablespoons soy sauce
• 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
• 1 tablespoon brown sugar
• 2 teaspoons Szechuan peppercorns, ground
• 1 teaspoon sesame oil
• 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
• 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
• 1 cup thinly sliced mushrooms
• 2 cups broccoli florets
• 2 green onions, sliced
• Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
• Step 1: In a medium bowl, combine the beef, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, Szechuan peppercorns, and sesame oil. Toss to coat the beef and let marinate for 15-20 minutes.
• Step 2: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, until the beef is lightly browned and no longer pink.
• Step 3: Add the garlic and ginger to the skillet and stir-fry for 1 minute, until fragrant.
• Step 4: Add the bell pepper, mushrooms, and broccoli to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, until the vegetables are crisp-tender.
• Step 5: Pour in any remaining marinade from the bowl and bring to a simmer. Cook for 1-2 minutes, until the sauce has thickened slightly.
• Step 6: Remove from heat and stir in the sliced green onions. Serve immediately over cooked rice.
